Slipknot Song Meanings
742617000027
You have probably all seen the famous People=Shit logo or the bar code on the back of Slipknot's jumpsuits... Well, the barcode translates into 742617000027! I don't know where it came from or why though... Apparently it is also on the back cover of Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat. If you were wondering what the guy is saying in it, its "The whole thing I think is sick!"...
(sic)
This one is about some writer Edgar Allen Poe (Corey's fave author) who used to sign his name as (sic)... Another version is that it has nothing to do with Edgar Allen Poe. It is simply a term used in literature. Writers put it next to a line they know is wrong, but they wanna include it anyways. The first version of this song was called Slipknot and it is on Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat...
Eyeless
Its about some guy who was came up to Corey in NY, and said "U can't see Californai without Marlon Brando's eyes..." I also heard that the "Its all in your head..." part is about pcychiatrists and doctors in general in rehabs who tell you that there's nothing they can do, and you gotta fix it yourself, cause "its all in your head"...
Wait And Bleed
Spit It Out
Its about how one radio station in Slipknot's home town Des Moines, who constantly refused to play Slipknot on the air, and was constantly putting the band down, but when they got famous, the station began playing their songs like every day...
Frail Limb Nursery
For those of you who are wondering who the voice of the girl right before the song: 'Purity' belongs to...Well...It's Purity...The dead girl the song is about. Some little boy had been talking to her and stuff and recorded her voice...She is telling him a story...If you can't understand the dead girl's words they go like this: 'She lay there as if she was in a trance...Her long eyelashes fluttering...and she said to him: 'I lie beyond the sea'...and then all of a sudden her head dipped back and she vanished. Gone. Gone without a trace, (Slipknot jarbled some words around at this part), do you know what it's like to live with that? The only one who knew me, gone. I know what you want I can give it to you. Cough...I'm tired.' That is what she says...It's pretty fucked up.
Purity
Basically, same story as with The Frail Limb Nursery, except this time its a REAL song.

Joey wrote the lyrics to this one. Slipknot was based on the theory that we would never give up any style of music that we loved to play, for anyone. That we would gel things together under the name Slipknot - it goes from all styles from beginning to end.
